Oskar Almazan's curator insight, March 9, 2017 11:28 PM
Remember when you were in school and you had to cram hundreds of pages of textbook material into your head before every big test? If you were like most students, you and your friends probably developed all kinds of tactics to make the grade. Maybe you made flashcards, or reviewed recordings of your professors’ lectures, or came up with intricate mnemonic devices to memorize the material at hand. You may have argued with your classmates about which method was best—but the truth is that, when it comes to learning, one size does not fit all. Scientists and psychologists have developed a number of different models to understand the different ways that people learn best. One popular theory, the VARK model, identifies four primary types of learners: visual, auditory, reading/writing, and kinesthetic. Each learning type responds best to a different method of teaching. Auditory learners will remember information best after reciting it back to the presenter, while kinesthetic learners will jump at the chance to participate in a hands-on activity.
Lina Gutiérrez's curator insight, May 18, 2020 3:34 PM
All the material that you want to transmit to your students, you must do it in a particular way. Take into account the 4 types of learners ( visual, auditory, reading/writing and kinesthetic) and try to create a way to transmit the information involving all of these types.
Through these article you will understand each particularity depending of the type of learner and which content is better for each one. It provides useful tips and explanations.

Hello, Year 9!

Here is an excellent resource regarding questions that a critical thinker asks whilst reading. I believe this will be incredibly useful for you as you develop your chapter summary for chapter four of The Outsiders which is due at the end of this week. Remember - you can present your chapter summary in any way you wish - a story board, a mind map, a Prezi, a short multimedia presentation, whatever takes your fancy.

As a critical thinker, you will need to develop the skills to read between the lines of what the author (in this case, S. E. Hinton) is describing through the text. This infographic provides you with some questions to help you get into the role of a critical thinker, and get you started on your project.

A myriad of threats:

* Employers often cannot assess data breach exposure on unmanaged BYODs

*Lost or stolen BYODs  that  contain sensitive data, with less than 1 in 4 can be remotely wiped.

* When BYODs bypass inbound filters normally applied to corporate devices, they’re vulnerable to malware

and the list goes on and on

6 Best Practices of Responsive Web Design [Infographic] | Aprendiendo a Distancia | Scoop.it

Responsive design for a website is often used in the context of mobile users.

Given the fact that more and more users are using mobile devices such as their smartphones and tablets to access the web, both for browsing and otherwise, it is extremely important that website designs become responsive towards all devices and screen sizes.

6 Best Practices of Responsive Web Design [Infographic]
Pallab Kakoti's curator insight, April 24, 2014 4:56 AM

Responsive designs are the window into the future of web portability to drive higher per user engagement by embedding the concept of Probability Scores. An aggregate of Content Scores & Engagement Scores are debated prior to finalizing which sections gets a higher Probability Score that will eventually determine content position in the responsive design layout. Probability Scores aims at achieving better per user click through rate owing to its full width auto adaptive content display interface that adjust the landing page  content based on the device.

Earlier websites used to feed different URLs for different devices. For example m.sitename.com or mobile.sitename.com indicated that the URL is for mobile or smart devices. But now things have changed thanks for responsive design attributes that determines the device that is trying to access the site URL before optimizing the content layout to adjust automatically with the device interface. This way the same URL is serving any device that is trying to access the website which again is compliance for search engine algorithm.

Responsive design has the advantage to every inch of the device or browser interface to maximize the user’s engagement intent possibility. Compelling visual storytelling theme powered by catchy headlines or titles richly feed with an interesting content copy furthermore elevates user interest to engage. This nature in elevating intent & urge to get involved have statistically indicated the favourability of lead generation & conversion rates from responsive designs.

Mobile devices will overtake PC user worldwide citing encouraging statistics to enthuse responsive design for websites, emails & landing pages. Responsive design layouts devised with #ProbabilityScores are based on the overall marketing objectives & branding goals. An implosive content marketing strategy with a creative team of visual storytellers delivers inspiring results and therefore the greater goodness is in the adoption of Responsive Site Design.

Rachael Johnston's curator insight, October 20, 2014 10:53 PM

It is important to build your own brand and to promote yourself positively. You want to be polite to other users and make sure you have nothing on your profile that could be damaging to your reputation. This includes swear words, inappropriate or rude comments, and pictures and videos of drinking or drugs.  This is really important for graduating students who, most likely, need to go through and delete pictures that have been tagged in one Facebook

Make sure you give credit to others if you share something of theirs. Also make sure you are writing your own posts and not just sharing others. However, make sure you are posting valuable and relevant information. Listen and think before you write and make sure you are using proper english.

It is okay to have debates on social netowrks with other users, everybody has the right ti voice their opinion, but don't let things get too personal or nasty.

It is also essential to understand that there are also hings to be very careful of when using social networks. For one, people are not always who they seem. You should also make sure you do not assume a false identity. It is important to keep some kind of professionalism, but don't change yourself or hide who you really are.

You must also make sure you are abiding by the rules of the network and report others who dont.

Last but certainly not least, be very careful about who you share things with. There are certain places to share certain things. For example, you may post something bout your personal life in your Facebook status, but it is not appropriate to do so on your LinkedIn profile. Do not share pictures and videos with strangers, you never know how they will use these.
