Be Internet Awesome is a very good platform that teaches kids the fundamentals of digital citizenship and online safety. This is basically a program developed in collaboration between Google and other safety platforms such as Internet Keep Safe Coalition, ConnectSafely, and Family Online Safety Institute. Be Internet Awesome provides a wide variety of digital citizenship resources for kids, teachers and educators that include lesson plans, guidelines, classroom activities, and several other  downloadable materials.

Be Internet Awesome is Google's new Internet safety curriculum. I learned about it from Larry Ferlazzo and then spent some time exploring it myself. The Be Internet Awesome site features a game called Interland. The game is set in a virtual world that students navigate by correctly answering questions about Internet safety.

Talking to children in clear, age-appropriate language about the dangers of the internet can be tricky. Fortunately, Google has a free (and pretty fantastic) toolkit you can use to discuss the fundamentals with your kids.

In 2017, Google launched an internet literacy program called Be Internet Awesome. It’s aimed at elementary-to-middle-school-aged children but is also accessible to those a little younger or older than that. Recently, after a slew of feedback from parents and educators, Google updated the program, which makes this an even better time to take a look if you haven’t already.
