But there are also teachers in classrooms right now that don’t have the gift of design–that is, they can’t start fresh at audience and purpose: who am I teaching, and why? They are given content in the form of standards, and often given packaged standards in the form of curriculum. The assessment form is out of their hands, and even scheduling and pace with regard to scope-and-sequences and related maps.

Long ago, when I started out as an ELA teacher, I wasn't aware of the challenges that I were to face as a new teacher. New at school, I started with high hopes in my mind; and quickly filled up my book-of-incidents. As I reflect over years, I wish I had known a few things, which, unfortunately, caused me a lot of hardship, and had to learn through experiences. I have bags filled with them. In today's post I am sharing with you a bunch of useful web tools that you can use with your students to record and share audio clips. One of the pluses about these tools besides having a friendly interface and being easy to use is that they do not require any software installation. They are all web based. This is a short article on the ways that teachers' roles are changing. It is important to note that teachers are not becoming obsolete, but are just as important as ever. Teachers are here to facilitate learning and assisting the students in becoming resilient, self directed and capable learners.

We can observe a significant change in the teacher's role. Nowadays, students are more independent in the learning process, and due to the pandemic situation, students are forced to create new study habits to learn by themselves. Sure it is!! Last week I showed my students how to scoopit. I thought that since they seem to love Facebook, Scoopit was going to be a wow experience for them. However, contrary to my expectations most of them did not show a real interest, or at least the kind of interest I expected. What a pain! Maybe it is a matter of time, culture, love for reading and writing, etc. From a group of 12 youngers, only 2 of them said: Thanks teacher, I like it! Well... I will keep on trying...

The world of educational technology has been exponentially expanded in the last couple of decades with the birth of several new educational concepts founded on digital media.
