One of the things that makes Common Craft videos popular is the clear and concise manner in which information is presented using a whiteboard, simple cutouts, and voice over. That style has become known as the Common Craft style and many teachers including myself have had students make videos using that style. Now Common Craft offers their own free course for teachers who want to make Common Craft style videos in their classrooms.

Considering that I will be an English teacher, I consider that it is relevant to know hot to provide an appropiate feedback not only for my students, but also to colleagues. When we do this kind of activities in the classroom, we do not feel comfortable because it is a hard task since we do not want to make our partners uncomfortables however, we  need to do this kind of activities to give and receive feedback in order to develop our teaching skills.

A delegation from Saudi Arabia have participated in a workshop on the strategic use of digital technology and skills development as part of a series of events planned for their visit to the UK, Germany and Washington D.C.

 

have just come back running a day and half workshop around the Strategic Use of TEL in Higher Education - it was a specific workshop to start off a series of events and workshops for the NCEL International Courses, organised by The International Academy for Educational Consultancy and Professional Development http://www.iaecpd.com/.  The group that I had the pleasure of working with was a group of academics and senior managers from Saudi Arabia.

The group will be spending around 10 days in the UK and will be exploring a range of activities using a variety of tools, including iPads. Throughout the workshop they identified how important digital literacies were to any kind of innovation.  One of the most interesting activities was a look at the challenges associated with becoming an innovative institution, this sparked some interesting conversations.

Music always enhances.   Never put too much information on a slide.  That's what talking is for, and I like to keep them up only 10-15 seconds so you keep people's interest.
