Hmmm....again, some good things here, but much of this seems directed at business pitch-type presentations. For example, this lists data-rich presentations as something you should avoid. You need to FOCUS and EMPHASIZE data rich presentations.

The best way to create terrible e-Learning is to dump content in an authoring tool (as if it was PowerPoint) add some questions and call it a course. Everybody knows (or should know) that learning development starts with defining clear learning objectives. Of these 8 very deadly sins the most deadly in my experience is the first one. When customers don't know where you want them to go and what you want them to do or where they came from (within you site) they get confused. Confused customers do many things buying is never one of them.

I just gave a webinar on upgrading to PowerPoint 2013, explaining all the new features and how to use them. During the webinar, I discussed 2 features that I realized are so hard to find that I really should share them with everyone. In PowerPoint 2010 and earlier, when you chose Insert > Clip Art, you could specify that you wanted only photographs. recentlyrue recently I had to get students to use Powerpoint as the Internet connection was too slow to have them all work at once on other online presentation tools. After laying down some ground rules about effective use they amazed us with their creative responses. It is not the tool. It is how you use it. And how teachers plan for it!
