The best advice I have is to plan ahead. There’s a lot of positions out there that can channel teaching/facilitation skills but also pedagogy/andragogy. If you’re good a designing lesson plans, maybe curriculum development would be a good stepping stone for you.

What Goes in the Portfolio?
The portfolio represents your skills and expertise. You need to decide if you want the portfolio to be static where you only do occasional maintenance and updates. Or do you want a site that’s more dynamic and continually updating?

This is a great resource for a leader in a high school. This can help a student to create a online e portfolio to collect important items that can help with getting into college or getting a job out of high school. This also can be helpful for a school as it can be use to create a school portfolio and display student accomplishment.

6 Reasons Why Sharing Other People's Content Makes You an Irresistible Job Candidate | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it

Creating your own content isn't the only way to get noticed. Becoming a go-to curator of quality information for your industry can also earn you a spot on a hiring manager's hit list.

Guillaume Decugis's curator insight, November 25, 2013 1:57 PM

Showing thought leadership matters - not just to CEO's. Any professional should look at developing startegies to show how much expertise they have and how much knowledgeable they are on their industry. As Alexis Grant details here, this is not about showing off - but simply about the mere fact of being hired.

Practical Tips to Aid New Faculty Members | Online Teaching Guest Blog | Blog | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it
When training and developing new faculty, words like best practices, pedagogy/andragogy, student engagement, and retention are bandied about quite a bit. While these things are important and certainly need to be addressed, I find new faculty also need to know more practical aspects of what it means to teach for any given college or university. No matter the subject matter taught, navigating various collegiate landscapes can become difficult and confusing, especially when adjuncting at a variety of institutions. So, what do new faculty need to know during this time of adjustment?

How to become an instructional designer

How to become an instructional designer | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it

A lot of people ask me how they could become instructional designers. Here’s some advice from my perspective, followed by links for other perspectives. All of this applies to instructional design in the business world, not academia or K-12 education. It’s probably most applicable to people in the US.
